Poggio dei sassi
Poggio dei sassi
Geographical location of the vineyards: At Calvagese Riviera, in the Valténesi lands among the sunny hills overlooking the lake, which run between Desenzano and Salò.
Grapes used for production and processing: Groppello di Mocasina (80%) and Groppello Gentile (20%).
The vineyard is cultivated using organic systems, without irrigation, in gravelly soils rich in shells and fossils. During the grape veraison period, green harvesting is carried out (thinning of 20% of the bunches) to enhance the characteristics of the grapes. After the fermentation phase, with careful temperature control in steel tanks, the wine obtained is placed in new Limousin barriques for at least two years.
Colour: bright red with reflections tending towards amaranth; Bouquet: full with hints of forest fruit, spicy and with a characteristic note of bitter almond in the aftertaste;
Taste: firm, full-bodied, structured in the tannins, with emerging mineral notes. Low acidity, but stimulating salivation and inducing further tasting.
Alcohol: 15% vol.
Qualification: an aged red wine with tannic notes, gently spiced. It is appreciated at the table with pasta dishes with meat sauce, with breaded mushrooms, game; stewed meats and roast pork knuckle; also ideal with cheeses such as aged grana, taleggio di grotta and gorgonzola.
Serving: Serve at room temperature 20°C - 22°C in a wide-mouthed balon after a little oxygenation of the wine.
